Hi! I’m Jessie, an associate art director and designer at Random House Illustrated, an imprint of Penguin Random House in New York.
Jessie specializes in gift packaging and design for the young and old alike. She creates activity books, games, journals, and stationery across a range of styles—working with award-winning authors and illustrators. Additional career highlight includes creating a unique origami chicken drumstick wrapper for QuestLove.
Born in Korea as Wah Young Kim and a Korean adoptee, she grew up on Long Island, NY. She got a BFA from Visual Communications at University of Delaware and worked in Philadelphia and Portland before traveling full circle back to NY.
She is a mother of three who loves to stay active and seek out adventure with her husband, Marco. Her new hobby is junk journaling and she loves to send snail mail, meet up for monthly dance or craft nights. You can find her spreading kindness and volunteering for her community in Maplewood, NJ.
